She came home to find them dead, immediately calling the cops, etc. After that day, she was put in St. Swinden’s Orphanage until she was eighteen. There, she met John Blake. They never actually spoke, but she’d seen him around. On the day of her eighteenth birthday, she applied to Gotham City’s Police Academy. The death of her parents made her want to be a hero, but not for recognition. Because she never wanted anyone to have to go through what she did.}
