"A hero can be anyone. Even a man doing something as simple and reassuring as putting a coat around a little boy's shoulder to let him know that the world hadn't ended. "
- Bruce Wayne.

“I hate feeling scared that the Joker’s going to come and slit my throat like he did my family! I don’t want to feel the need to always have a gun in my hands because I won’t know what to expect when I walk to Starkbucks! I had a life, and that clown ripped it from my fingertips! Turned me into this monster, completely full of hate and resentment towards any and everything! That’s not me! The real me is something I tried to keep away because the real me is broken and weak, and I can’t afford to be like that in this hellhole!” —Adelaide Quinn.

{ Ducks. }

When Adelaide was younger— back when her parents and brother were still alive— they would go to the duck pond at park and feed the ducks. It was her favorite thing to do, because her family wouldn’t argue. Not that they argued a lot, but her parents sometimes had their downfalls, and as a little girl, it scared her more than anything. Adelaide would tear up little pieces of bread and give them to Aedyn, her little brother, and he’d waddle over and feed them, giggling when they nibbled at his fingers. Kathleen and Isaiah would sit on a bench and smile at the kids, making sure they didn’t get hurt. While other kids preferred staying home, Adelaide lived for the moments when they’d feed the ducks. After he family was killed, she would go by herself and feed them, imagining they were all still there watching her.
